"City Monument in the Park" is an oil painting that captures a vibrant and significant urban scene, featuring a prominent monument within a park setting. The painting portrays a bright, clear day with a striking blue sky, emphasizing the historical and cultural significance of the monument and its surroundings. The composition is dominated by the statue of a historical figure standing on a pedestal, placed prominently in the foreground. To the left of the statue is another sculptural element, a tall abstract form with an inset figure, adding a dynamic and intriguing visual contrast. In the background, notable architectural structures, including a building with a clock tower and a church with a red roof, frame the scene. The artist employs a vivid color palette, with a bright blue sky serving as the backdrop, highlighting the monument and surrounding buildings. The use of reds, whites, and grays in the buildings and sculptures creates a harmonious and balanced visual impact. The background features a building with a distinctive clock tower, a church with a prominent red roof, and a row of townhouses, indicating a typical European urban landscape. The architectural elements are depicted with clean lines and a realistic approach, emphasizing their historical and cultural importance. Bare trees are scattered throughout the scene, suggesting a late autumn or early winter setting. The use of shadow and light creates depth and dimension, enhancing the realism of the park and its features. The central statue likely represents a notable historical or cultural figure, symbolizing the city's heritage and pride. The inclusion of the church and the clock tower highlights the cultural and architectural identity of the city, reflecting its historical roots. The artist employs a realistic style with attention to detail in both the monument and the surrounding architecture. The bright blue sky contrasts with the darker tones of the monument and buildings, drawing attention to the central elements and creating a striking visual effect. "City Monument in the Park" is a captivating work of art that beautifully captures the essence of an urban park and its significant monument. Through the use of vivid colors, detailed composition, and thoughtful integration of architectural and natural elements, the painting invites viewers to appreciate the historical and cultural significance of the scene. The statue and the surrounding buildings stand as proud symbols of the city's heritage, framed by the clear, bright sky that suggests a day full of promise and pride.

About the artists: Oleksiyander Gukalov
After graduating from Lviv Polytechnic, he was engaged in scientific work. In his free time, he studied the works of Plato, the poetry of the ancient East, and religious works. At this time, resistance to the routine of life and utilitarian science arose in him; he became interested in man and his secrets. Oleksiyander decided to end his engineering career and become a humanitarian. Since 1990, he began to write and publish philosophical poems. Later he decided to devote himself to painting, a passion for which began during his years of study at the Lviv Polytechnic with caricatures and caricatures of classmates and teachers.

Since 2017 he has been painting with oil paints. Oleksiyander does not have a formal art education, but he is convinced that the craft and talent of an artist do not directly depend on professional education. The artist's works are characterized by completeness of composition and depth of meaning. He is not afraid to work with different themes, his paintings are true modern art that touches people. The artist’s portfolio includes landscapes and views of his favorite cities, portraits of pop stars, politicians, athletes, relatives, and animals. “I draw a toga when I feel the need for it. Therefore, I cannot say that I work in some narrow direction. Rather, it is a call from the soul,” the artist says about himself.
