He took part in hostilities during the Great Patriotic War, was awarded orders and medals. The last years of Ivan Tsyupka's service took place in Moscow, where he studied fine arts in an art studio. He had the opportunity to often visit museums and art galleries. Ivan Kirillovych Tsyupka visited the Tretyakov Gallery especially often.
After the war he worked as a teacher of fine arts at Romenska Secondary School № 1, taught drawing and drawing for three decades. The main works are made in the genre of folk painting and decorative painting, landscape and still life. In recent years he has been fascinated by photography. In the early 1960s, Ivan Tsyupka met Tatiana Nylivna Yablonska, who became his senior friend and mentor, and had a great influence on the artist's work. Under her influence he painted picturesque rural landscapes: "Grass blooms", "Phlox near the house", "Lilac near the mud", "Old pear" and others.
