About the artist: Born on April 23, 1926 in the village of Burimka, Chernihiv Oblast. He graduated from the Odessa Art College (1952) and the Kiev Art Institute (1958). Teachers by profession - V. Puzirkov, M. Ivanov, K. Trohimenko. Member of the National Union of Artists (1961). People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1990). Member of World War II. Awarded with medals. He worked in the industry of easel painting and graphics, a representative of a realistic direction. He taught at the National Academy of Art and Architecture (since 1961); Professor (since 1981). Participant of exhibitions: republican since 1958, all-Union and abroad (Germany, 1985); personal in Ichna (1987), Chernihiv (1988), Kiev (1999, 2000, 2002), Priluki (2002). Major works: illustrations for the novel by A. Khizhnyak “Daniil of Galitsky” (1951); "Walkers from Chernihiv" (1958); “Ukrainians in V.I. Lenin” (1963); "In the native land" (1964); “Home” (1965); triptych "Chernihiv - Heroes of October" (1967); "Tankers" (1970); "Our class" (1975); May 9 (1984); “Home” (1985); "Holiday in Cherkasy land" (1986); "Gonta near Uman" (1991); “My clan is big, my clan is beautiful” (1992-1995); “Spiritual Ukraine” (1999) portraits of G. Yakutovich (1980); P. Tychina (1991); O. Gonchara, A. Kolomiyets (1993), T. Shevchenko (1994), M. Romanishin, L. Lukyanenko (1999). The works are stored in the funds of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and in the National Museum of Art. He died in 2007.
