Marina Mikhailovna Deregus (1929-1995) is a respected Soviet-Ukrainian painter and graphic artist whose works have been included in exhibitions and are admired by collectors for their lyrical landscapes, still lifes, and sensitive color harmonies. Her art is valued for its poetic vision, decorative quality, and strength in both graphic and pictorial techniques.

Deregus’s oeuvre is distinguished by her mastery of color and light, delicate orchestration of tones, and a refined sense of atmosphere. She worked in both easel painting and stand-alone graphics, producing scenes that capture mood, nature, and still life in ways that communicate serenity and subtle emotion.

Born on April 2, 1929 in Kharkov, she graduated from the Kharkov State Art School in 1950, where she studied under E. Yakovenko and B. Vaks. She became a member of the Kharkov branch of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR in 1962. Deregus began participating in republican, all-Union, and international exhibitions from 1957.

Her notable works include paintings such as “Wind” (1957), “Moonlit Night” (1960), “Spring” (1965); and graphic works like “Twilight” (1961), “Evening in Kyrylivka” (1964), and “Flowers and Fruit” (1978). Her works are held in many museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. She passed away on April 4, 1995 in Kharkov.
