Vladimir Ogeevich Novikovsky: A Kiev Artist's Journey

Vladimir Ogeevich Novikovsky was born in Zhytomyr on November 21, 1931. His life's journey was deeply intertwined with the world of art. He embarked on his artistic education at the Kiev Art Institute, completing his studies in 1958. Subsequently, he continued his creative development at the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts in Kiev, a pivotal step that refined his artistic skills in various domains.

During his educational journey, Novikovsky was fortunate to be guided by accomplished mentors and teachers, including M. Sharonov, O. Pashchenko, S. Yerzhikovsky, M. Deregus, L. Chichkan, I. Pleschinsky, O. Danchenko, I. Selivanov, and M. Ivanov. These influences shaped his distinctive style and artistic vision.

Novikovsky's artistic contributions extended to both easel and book graphics. He crafted a diverse body of work, with notable pieces such as the lithograph series "Metallurgists of the Dnieper" (1957 - 1958), "On the seven-year Ukrainian new buildings" (1959 - 1960), "Based on T. G. Shevchenko" (1960), and "On the work of people" (1961 - 1962). His series of etchings, "Workers of Chornomorye" (1963 - 1965), stood out as a significant achievement in his artistic career.

Novikovsky actively participated in numerous exhibitions, including regional showcases since 1957, all-union exhibitions since 1958, and even international exhibitions since 1959. His work was widely recognized, and he was honored with a prestigious medal for his contributions to the world of art.
