About the artist: Among the talented brush masters, whose stars have flashed in the creative horizon of Romnov in recent years, there is the personality of the young artist Sergei Nikolaevich Pivtorak.

He was born on August 30, 1969 in the picturesque village of Voshchilikha in Romeshchyna.

Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming an artist. A schoolboy from his native village came to Romny, where he studied with the artist Valery Kupriyanovich Zosenko to understand art, to feel the color.

It was a long and difficult journey to his dream. It was difficult for a young man from the provinces to enter an elite art school, by that time. Sergey successfully graduated from the Kharkov State Art College and the graphic arts faculty of Kharkov Pedagogical University.

Staying in Kharkov gave Sergey extremely much in becoming an artist. It should be emphasized that among his Kharkov mentors were P. Shigimaga, M. Konstantinopolsky, V. Khmelnitsky and other famous masters of the brush. Much than that, Sergei is grateful to his friend and mentor artist Vitaly Baranenko. During training, Sergey began to exhibit his works in the Kharkov House of Artists, and was demanding of his work.

He was actively engaged in self-education, he was always aimed at finding a new, unknown, little-known. The creative range of Sergey Pivtorak's works ranges from classical realism to impressionism. His landscapes, still lifes and genre paintings are filled with air and color. He considers M. Polunov, I. Levitan, K. Yuon, S. Zhukovsky, S. Vasilkovsky to be his authority in art.

To learn the unknown, to master a new technique, to achieve a bright sound of color - the path to creative success, the path that a young artist walks in art. He learns from nature, from his experienced comrades, from recognized brush masters. And also he loves his native land, its history and complex present. Indeed, in love for the native land and for people, an artist is born.

A notable event in the artistic life of the thousand-year-old city above Sula and in the life of Sergey Pivtorak was the entry into the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in the fall of 2003. Of course, his many works, their artistic value, and perfection became the main pass to the Union. It should be emphasized that Sergey Pivtorak is the first resident of the city of Romny, who became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The artist, who is a singer of his native land, perpetuates for the future the history of the land, his famous countrymen, teaches to notice and feel the beauty, understand and love it. His works are appreciated, they are increasingly found in museums and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Works by S. Pivtorak are in Sumy and Lebedinsky art and Romensky local history museums.

Sergey Pivtorak is an active participant in various art exhibitions: local, regional, state. And each exhibition is a kind of test. Only in recent years, Sergey Pivtorak took part in All-Ukrainian art exhibitions: by the 2000th Christmas of Christ (Kiev, Kharkov, 2000), by the Artist’s Day (Kiev, 2000, 2003; Kharkov, 2001), “Malovnicha Ukraine ”(Ivano-Frankivsk, 2001; Donetsk, 2001), to the 65th district of the Kharkiv Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (Kharkov, 2003). Add to this the personal exhibitions in the Romensky Museum of Local Lore, the art center “Cathedral” and the House of Artists (Sumy), the Kiev-Mohyla Academy (Kiev). In the Ukrainian Cultural Center (Moscow). The Lebedinsky Art Museum.

In one interview, to the journalist’s question about his best work, Sergey Pivtorak said: “I believe that my best work is in the future.” We believe in this and we!
