Mikhail Evgenievich Guida (born December 18, 1954) is a distinguished Ukrainian painter and graphic artist whose works have been presented at leading international auctions and are highly admired by collectors. He is celebrated for his expressive color, emotional depth, and ability to merge national tradition with contemporary artistic expression.

Guida’s art is marked by poetic realism and refined technique. His works range across large narrative painting, portraiture, landscapes, and genre scenes. He often explores themes of nature, human character, and Ukraine’s cultural-historical heritage. His canvases are also notable for their original color solutions, fine plastic form, and harmonious composition, making them appealing to museums and private collections alike.

Born on December 18, 1954, on the Tikhonkoy farm, Pavlovsky District, Krasnodar Territory, Guida later moved into Ukrainian artistic life. He graduated in 1982 from the Kyiv State Art Institute and then completed postgraduate studies at the I. Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture between 1983–1986. In 1982 he began teaching in the Department of Painting at the Kyiv State Art Institute, and in 1993 he became head of the studio of easel painting there. He was made a Professor in 1995. Guida also held leadership roles in artistic organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Kyiv branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine from 1989–1993.

His many honors include titles such as Honored Artist of Ukraine (1991) and People’s Artist of Ukraine (2001), election as Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine in 2001, and awards such as the Ivan Ohienko Prize (2000) and the Taras Shevchenko National Prize (2016). Guida’s works have been exhibited widely in Ukraine, the USA, Italy, Poland, and China, included in museum collections and private holdings around the world, and are regularly featured in international auctions.
