Adolf Markovich Konstantinopolsky (1923–1993) is a world-famous Ukrainian painter whose works have been presented at leading international auctions, consistently drawing the attention of discerning private collectors. His canvases are prized for their powerful historical vision, expressive color, and a masterful balance between monumental scope and intimate human truth.

Konstantinopolsky’s art unites lyrical realism with dramatic, well-structured compositions. Best known for battle and historical themes, he transformed episodes of memory and everyday heroism into emotionally resonant images. His confident brushwork, nuanced tonal range, and keen sense of narrative make his works highly desirable for museum and private collections alike.

Born on April 20, 1923 in Kharkiv, Konstantinopolsky studied at the Kharkiv Art School (1940–1941) and later at the Kharkiv State Art Institute (1948–1954) under Yury Balanovsky, Hryhorii Tomenko, and Olha Lezina. A veteran of World War II, he began exhibiting in 1954, became a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine in 1958, and was awarded Merited Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1974 and People’s Artist of Ukraine in 1991. His works were shown internationally in Canada (1962) and Italy (1975), with personal exhibitions in Kharkiv (1974, 1983) and Kyiv (1975). He passed away on December 1, 1993 in Kharkiv.
