About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian artist. People's Artist of Ukraine. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Sukhorukikh Anatoly Ivanovich was born on December 20, 1935 in the city of Novocherkassk in Russia. In 1960 he graduated from the Crimean Art College. N.S. Samokish, and in 1966 he graduated from the Kharkov Art and Industry Institute, where he studied under A. Khmelnitsky and A. Constantinople. The dissertation of Anatoly - “Mothers of Sevastopol” - is a powerful, emotional canvas, strict in color and carefully verified in composition. The painting "Mothers of Sevastopol" was noted as one of the best diploma works at the competition of young artists, graduates of art universities of the USSR. In 1966, Anatoly Sukhorukikh moved to Sevastopol, a city that had excited and inspired him in his work for more than forty years. Feeding on the Crimean sun, studying all the nuances of light reflexes, Anatoly tirelessly writes many sketches. Landscapes Sukhorukov - authentic. In 2009, Sukhorukikh Anatoly Ivanovich was awarded the title "People's Artist of Ukraine". He was the initiator of the creation of the annual All-Ukrainian "Sevastopol plein air". About fifteen years he headed the Sevastopol branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. He was always demanding of himself and others, instructed young authors in their search for perfection. The works are stored in Sevastopol and Simferopol art museums, private collections both in Ukraine and abroad.
