About the Artist
Born on December 5, 1937, in the city of Dneprodzerzhinsk, Zhezher Anatoly Mikhailovich embarked on a lifelong journey in the world of art. He completed his artistic education at the Dnepropetrovsk State Art College in 1961. Zhezher was a prolific painter known for his expressive compositions in thematic paintings and lyrical landscapes.
Zhezher Anatoly Mikhailovich became a distinguished member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in 1978. Throughout his career, he lent his creative talents to various roles, including working as a designer in Dnepropetrovsk, teaching at the Rivne children's art school, and contributing to the Dnepropetrovsk art-production plant from 1973 to 1989. Among his notable students was L. Antonyuk.
His artistic journey was punctuated by exhibitions, with his works featured in regional and republican showcases since 1960. Zhezher Anatoly Mikhailovich also held personal exhibitions in Dnepropetrovsk in 1996 and 2007.
Key Works and Legacy
Zhezher Anatoly Mikhailovich's body of work includes an array of significant pieces, such as "Autumn Warm Day" (1969), "Portrait of a Young Teacher" (1973), "In the Native Land" (1975), "Carpathian Landscape" (1975), "Sower," "Hunting More Than Captivity" (1967), "Mistress of the Fields" (1968), "Young Teacher" (1973), and many more. His artistry is preserved in the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum and the Museum of the History of Dneprodzerzhinsk.
Zhezher Anatoly Mikhailovich lived and worked in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of art.
