In the masterful painting titled "Rough Shore," the artist skillfully captures a captivating seascape that evokes a profound sense of awe and melancholy. The scene unveils an untamed expanse of ocean stretching into the distance, its tumultuous waves crashing against a rocky shoreline with an unrestrained force. It is a place where nature's raw power is vividly manifest. In the foreground of this mesmerizing composition, a reef emerges from the restless waters, forming a natural barrier between the sea and the land. Here, tragedy unfolds as the remnants of a once-proud vessel lie scattered upon the reef, testament to the unforgiving nature of the tempestuous waters. The shattered hull and fragmented masts serve as a poignant reminder of the perilous journey the ship once embarked upon, now reduced to a lifeless wreckage. Amidst the wreckage, a figure lies motionless, its form unmistakably that of the ship's captain. The captain, clad in tattered garments, lies unconscious upon the reef, a symbol of human vulnerability in the face of nature's relentless power. The artist's brushstrokes convey the captain's despair and isolation, portraying the weight of responsibility and the price paid for daring to challenge the might of the ocean. The surrounding landscape bears witness to the harsh reality of this rugged shore. Jagged rocks jut out from the water, their weathered surfaces etched with the marks of countless battles against the elements. Seagulls circle overhead, their cries mingling with the roaring waves, as if mournfully lamenting the wreckage before them. The palette chosen by the artist reflects the mood of the scene, with a somber combination of grays, blues, and hints of dark green. The tumultuous sea is rendered with energetic brushstrokes, capturing the dynamic movement of the waves and the restless spirit of the ocean. Contrasting with the stormy sea, the muted colors of the sky convey a sense of gloom, as though the heavens themselves mourn the loss that transpired on this treacherous shore. "Rough Shore" is an emotive masterpiece that invites viewers to contemplate the fragile nature of human existence and the immense power of the natural world. Through its meticulous details and evocative imagery, this painting serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent vulnerability that accompanies our pursuit of adventure, as well as the profound beauty that can arise from the ruins of our endeavors.

About the artists: Alexander Arkadievich Litvinov was born on May 18, 1967 in the city of Lubny. He graduated from the Lubensk secondary school № 1. One of his favorite lessons was drawing. I was even more attracted by studies at an art school, where boys and girls were introduced to high art thanks to the wise teachers Vasily Semenyuta, Anatoly Kharchuk, Nikolai Korablev, Tamara Moshnikoviy. Especially in his artistic development, Alexander owes to Vasily Ivanovich Semenyuta, his classical school of teaching, which he enriched in his time through his acquaintance with famous artists Alexei Asaulenko and Petr Likhin. And also an extremely important role in the passion for painting was played by the fact that Alexander's father, Arkady Petrovich Litvinov, was both a talented artist and an excellent teacher. He had 53 years of teaching experience - he taught drawing and drawing at the Lubensk school №8, many of his students connected their professions with artistic creativity. Alexander's elder brother, Oleg Arkadyevich Litvinov, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, now lives in Odessa, also chose the artistic path.

And after leaving school, Alexander served in the army, where his artistic talent came in handy - in Soviet times, visual agitation was highly valued. He served in Dnepropetrovsk, where two personal exhibitions of his paintings were organized. While still at school, Alexander began to design books, in particular, children's literature. He received his first creative fee in the tenth grade from the publishing house "Raduga" for the design of the book by Anatoly Rybakov "Krosh's Vacation". Later she studied at the Odessa Theater and Art School, specializing in "Decoration of puppet shows and artistic and props art."

Studying at the school and passion from childhood with historical and biblical literature greatly influenced the creative manner of the artist. He works in the style of the so-called figurative art, where the main thing is the image of the human body.
