Collection: Creative group "Art-Hotyn"
The artists of the Art-Hotyn creative group, having absorbed the traditions of the best Ukrainian art schools: Odesa and Lviv, work in the direction of figurative art on the territory of Bukovyna. The synthesis of these schools creates a unique color, saturation of images and depth of content in the paintings of artists.
The creative group "Art-Hotyn" is a bright representative of modern art, created in 2010. Each of the artists - Mykhailo Kyrylenko, his son Ivan Kyrylenko and Valentina Kozyar - are self-sufficient creators who together form an interesting phenomenon in the art of Bukovyna.
Valentina Kozyar is the heart and active member of the group. Her teacher Mykhailo Kyrylenko had a significant influence on the creative path of the artist. Her works are characterized by bold color solutions, mysterious images and exquisite compositions. The image and background can change places, one or another part of the background can join the image, forming a new version of the image. The color solution is based, first of all, on the ratio of tones and halftones. The works reflect reality through the prism of the artist's thoughts and feelings. At the same time, the lack of specificity in the images attracts the viewer to the completion of the image of the work, through their own feelings, thoughts and emotions. The images create the illusion of portraying unknown characters, addressed to us by our own reflections, it serves as a kind of mirror of the viewer's inner world.
After graduating from the Odesa Pedagogical Institute, Mykhailo Kyrylenko and Valentina Kozyar absorbed the traditions of South Russian impressionism and the elegance characteristic of the Odesa school, which is manifested in the painstaking work of artists on the image, the careful selection of coloristic nuances and compositional solutions. They continued their creative journey in Bukovyna, where the Lviv school had a significant influence on artists. The bright decorative qualities of painting inherent in it are present in the works of artists, and in the compositional basis of the works, reliance on realistic tendencies is felt.
In the paintings of Mykhailo Kyrylenka, monumental forms, pure and bright colors prevail. The characteristic features of Mykhailo Hryhorovych's painting are a wonderful sense of measure and tact in conveying the real and symbolic in forms that imperceptibly transform and flow on the canvas, stimulating the imagination to understand and supplement them by the viewer himself. In his works, the master rethinks the themes of Ukrainian folklore, depicts mythical creatures, characters from literary works and legends. On the canvases of the artist, the depicted character is the center of the composition. The background is a decorative colored panel that crumbles during the formation of the plot image. The figures are built in accordance with the proportions of the human body. Modeling of planes is quite rough, straight, clear shapes dominate. The color solution is based on a contrasting combination of colors. All this creates incredible images, each of which evokes a variety of emotions in the viewer: a feeling of the warmth of the sun's rays and goodness, a romantic mood, a sense of mystery and hope.
The youngest representative of the group, Ivan Kyrylenko, in his work remained faithful to the traditions and principles inherited from his father. But unlike Mykhailo Hryhorovych, Ivan's painting is delicate and fragile. The compositions are dynamic, full of movement and emotions. Ivan's works are distinguished by their freshness and ease of perception. In his works, the artist addresses sensual themes that do not leave the viewer indifferent.
