About the artist: Soviet painter. People's Artist of Russia. Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the first degree (1951). Professor, Department of Painting and Composition, St. Petersburg State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture I.E. Repin of the Russian Academy of Arts, was chairman of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Artists of Russia (LOSHa).
