Artistic
In 1918–1920, he worked mainly in graphic arts: he illustrated books, made portraits, posters; later moved on to current topics. Svitlytsky's characteristic drawing with small separate strokes, close to the French pointillists.

Work in temples, religious painting occupy a large part of the artist's life. A list of temples where Svitlytsky worked. It is known that Hryhoriy Petrovych painted the walls of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross on Podil in Kyiv.

As Igor Sharov notes, Hryhoriy Svitlytskyi was called the "Poet of Moonlit Nights", and also a subtle lyricist, whose works are characterized by a melodious sound and a special musical expressiveness. One of the artist's most exquisite and poetic paintings is "House on a Moonlit Night". Dusk is just falling on the village, the day has not yet faded, and this rapid transition from day to night is skillfully shown in the picture. Among the tall poplars, a simple Ukrainian mazanka, whether from the rays of the sun or the moon, became bright white, festive, filled with an unknown light like a flashlight.
